Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris Part III (Pronoun/Kata Ganti Benda)

Belajar bahasa Inggris untuk memahami grammar/tata bahasa lanjutan dari artikel bimbingan belajar bahasa Inggris part I dan bimbingan belajar bahasa Inggris part II. Materi yang akan kita bahas pada sesi posting kali ini adalah berkaitan dengan kata ganti benda atau Pronoun.

PRONOUN / KATA GANTI BENDA

Pronoun adalah kata ganti benda. Dalam bahasa Inggris bentuk pronoun akan berubah berdasarkan fungsi atau kedudukannya dalam kalimat. Pronoun bisa difungsikan sebagai subject, object atau possessive.

Pronoun terdiri dari:

- Demonstrative pronoun
- Personal pronoun
- Indefinite pronoun

A. Demonstrative Pronoun

- Singular Plurar

- This these

- That those

Example:

- This is my pen and that is your pen

- These are my books and those are your books

- This pen is as expensive as that of yours

Note:

Demonstrative pronoun tidak langsung diikuti benda, karena memang berfungsi untuk menggantikan suatu benda. Dalam contoh 3, “this” pada “this pen” bukan demonstrative pronoun melainkan demonstrative adjective karena langsung diikuti oleh benda.

C. Indefinite Pronoun

Everyone/Everybody : Setiap orang

Someone/Somebody : Seseorang (+)

Anyone/Anybody : Seseorang (-), (?)

One : Orang, atau menggantikan benda tertentu

Each other : Saling (untuk dua orang)

One another : Saling (untuk lebih dari dua orang)

Other (s) : Yang lainnya

The other (s) : Yang lainnya (untuk orang/benda yang sudah tertentu)

No one : Tak seorang pun

None : Tak satu pun

Nothing : Tak sesuatu pun (benda)

Something (+) : Sesutau

Anything (-) : Sesuatu

Everything : Segalanya

All : Semua

Each : Masing-masing, tiap-tiap

Either : Satu atau yang lainnya (diantara dua)

Neither : Tak satu pun (diantara dua)
